Bathroom Sink Cut Out Question
Hi,
We are remodeling our bathroom and are now ready to order our vanity counter top.
The vanity will be going into a corner of the room. So when we ordered it, the designer at HD included a 3/4 inch filler strip. This was to allow clearance for the vanity door to open fully. The old vanity did not have this filler and opened with no issues.
If we use this strip we'll have to make the top 3/4'' longer than if we didn't use it.
Here are my questions:
Assuming we use the filler, should we position the center of the sink cut out to be in the center (left to right) of the vanity top or should it be centered to the vanity's middle?
If we center the cut out to the counter top, the drain will end up being 1 3/8" to the right of the middle of the existing drain that is sticking out of the wall. Will this create a big plumbing issue with regard to connecting the sink drain?
If we center the sink to the vanity, this offset drops to 1 1/4 inches with the filler and 1/2 inch with no filler.
Any advice or comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
