Acrylic shower walls

I need to glue shower walls to cement backer board. The manufacturer recommends Liquid Nails N715 or N915. I used this adhesive on a friends walls recently and the adhesive did not stick and the walls were laying on the ground the next morning.

What other adhesive could be used that will A) not burn through the acrylic and B) stick to the cement board?

Loctitie Tub Surround states it cannot be used on cement board. Would a FRP glue work?

I'm not a pro carpenter. I have done my own work and I've had problems with Liquid Nails in the past. I think in your case it may be the porous walls.

I've used this before for similar jobs and it has worked fantastically.
You can get it at lowes and depot.

PJmax, can't use that as it will burn through the acrylic as it's a heavy petroleum type adhesive. This is the problem I'm faced with, findind something that will stick to hardi board and NOT burn through the acrylic.

Thank you!

I wonder if you sealed the wonder board with paint if that would allow the liquid nail to work ??
