Best way to cut out slab for barrier free shower pan?
I have gutted out my bathroom and need to cut out 1 1/2" depth in my concrete slab to install a Kerdi shower pan for a barrier free shower. I have to get about 7/8" from the studs on two walls to fit the pan in the proper place. I do not think a rental concrete saw will fit in this area(the bathroom is only 6'x7'), plus i would rather do a dry cut to avoid water everywhere. Would a circular saw and a shop vac do it with a diamond blade? And if so what would be the best blade to chose? If not what are my options?

You cannot cut out just 1 1/2". You will have to cut the floor out entirely and repour it 1 1/2" lower. A diamond chainsaw would cut nearly flush with the walls and can cut near corners all the way through the slab. Locate your utilities before you cut. Determine if any water supplies run through the slab. You will need water to make the cut and a 2nd person to run the wet vac.
