which do you like laminate kitxhen countertop or the Butcher Block?

Does not matter what anyone here likes, what does the misses like?
When I see butcher block I think it was built in the 70's when that was the in thing,
Trying to cheap out and not buy solid tops, check out the tops at HD that have a roman ogee on the front and backsplash that are faux stone.

I'm a quartz guy but if those are my only two choices, I'd pick laminate. Not a fan of wood in food prep areas; I want something harder to resist damage from knives and other tools/utensils.
