Trimming countertop lamanite w/o small router?
If I want to make a formica countertop I have this problem.
I only have a large 1 1/4 HP router. So when I need to trim the laminate what can I do to trim it when I get close to the wall? Is there a good way to trim those that few inches that the router won't be able to do?
I am hopeful that there is and that I won't have to buy a small router just for this one job. Thanks

If you need to do it in place you can also use a carbide tipped laminate scoring tool and a framing square to score it about 1/16" long. Then use a rasp and file (file downward only, not up) and/or a sander to finish the edge.

Complete your routering before you install the counter top. Assume that you have a regular laminate router blade attachment for your tool.
