Tub/Cement Board Transition Waterproofing
So I am about to tile a tub surround for the first time ever and have been trying to do all my homework to not mess this up and not have to start allover in less than a year. Anyway, the only spot that I am having questions in the waterproofing aspect of the job is where the tub and the cement board transition. The only thing I have right now is silicone pressed into the gap but for some reason I feel like that isn't enough but that is based on my limited experience. After using the 6 inch fiberglass waterproofing tape in all the corners this weekend I wondered if I would use this also along the tub/cement board transitions as well? Not sure how well the Mapei Aquadefense will stick to the tub but I was wondering if this is possible or if I should just stop worrying and the silicone bead is enough?
Thanks a lot!
