Small surface crack in granite countertop

I have a 6-8" surface crack in my granite countertop that barely (if at all) is noticeable by the finger nail. A marble/granite countertop contractor said to use a high density sealant as it will 'fill' the gap and make the crack unnoticeable. This make sense as the crack disappears when water/cleaner is rubbed on. Does this make sense?

Is that cracked from something falling on it or is it a fissure ?
Do you seal your granite ?
A heavy coat of sealer in the crack may hide it.

The other pros will be by later.

(Didn't forget that PM either)

I am not sure what the previous owner did but I'll assume no. I have some MIRACLE 511 Porous Plus Sealer I could use if you think it is appropriate.

It actually occurred right after I put a heavy cast iron pot on it from a 350F oven. I am very surprised given granite should be heat resistant.

Granite is strong but it always has natural fissures that can open up or become visible.
Miracle 511...... sounds impressive. I've never used it so I won't comment on it.
