Silly question. I am installing a corner shower and am planning the drain. Got that part. I'm wondering how, after I position the base and insert the drain into the 2" pipe, (how) I can "get under the floor" to tighten that large PVC nut that pulls the top part of the drain to the base. This screw on nut that I'm writing about is the one that came in the box with the drain. Thanks!

Thought I might try to clarify. As far as I can tell, the rubber gasket goes under the drain and on top of the shower base. The fiber gasket/ring goes under the base and then the nut last (under the base). So there is no access to the nut in order to tighten it. This drain is between the ceiling of main floor and floor of the upstairs. Maybe I got the wrong drain, but it came with the corner shower package. Thanks again.

Lightbulb

I need to install the nut first with the base standing on it's side. Then place the entire assembly on the floor with the drain fitting over the 2" pipe! It just hit me.
