How to finish above backsplash edge, underneath cabinet

How do you finish this section? I was just gonna paint it as it's not visible when you are standing in the kitchen. But just wondering if there's any finishing ideas out there that might be aok.

Assuming you have a table saw, put a plywood (or similar) filler in there that is just as thick as the tile is, so that the surface of it is flush with the tile. Then add a rip of Baltic birch plywood or prefinished melamine shelving on top of that to match your cabinet bottoms and sides. It will be the same size as the pieces to the left and right that are the sides of the cabinets, and long enough to fit between them. So once it is installed, it will be flush with the bottoms of those side pieces.

Nail the filler to the wall then glue the strip you put on front to that, if you don't want any nail holes in it. If you are painting it, just nail it to the wall.

Here is an example of the prefinished melamine that probably matches your cabinet bottoms. But if you're just going to paint it, you could use any type of wood.
