Question Bathtub/Shower Doors

I have the same problem with my tub. The doors, tracking and frame need to be removed, but I'm concerned about ruining the tub and the tiles. The frame seems to be screwed directly into the tiles. How do I remove them without ruining the tub and shower tiles?

Hi,To remove the doors/frames is fairly simple.the only thing is you will have holes in the tile where the sides are screwed to the wall(about 3/16" dia.).To remove the doors start with the outside door first, lift up on the door and push in on the top to pop the wheels out of the track.Just let the door stand there and do the same with the inside door. Now get someone to steady the doors so the wont tip over and break. The top of the frame is just resting on the sides, push up on it on each side to remove, and then you can remove the doors.Remove the screws in the sides of the frame and cut or scrape away any calking where the sides and tile meet.Start at the top and pull the side frame away from the walls working toward the bottom.Do the same for the other side.Dont use anything metal to pry with as you may chip or crack your tile/tub.To remove the bottom track cut or scrape away caulking where track tub meet, start on one sid and lift track off tub. There are no screws holding track to tub.Thats it!You can use a razor scraper like used to scrape paint off windows,to scrape any caulking or adhesive left on tiles or tub.Hope this helps,Brian

Brian,

Thanks for the instructions. Hope it's as easy as it sounds.
