whirlpool install

i would like to install a whirlpool tub in my bathroom but won't have accessability to the pump. can the pump be installed under the floor?

Theoretically, yes you could install the pump then seal it in, but it is a very bad idea. I would advise against putting it in the floor so to speak - next to the tub is ok, but losing access to the pump could be very bad, if and when it quits, you would have to tear out the floor area beside the whirlpool, or if it leaks...

Shower fixtures

I want to replace my 20 year old Delta single handle shower handle with a new Kohler model. I need to change the valve to accommodate the new fixture. Will it be necessary to tear the tile off the wall, make a larger opening to replace the valve and then do the necessary patching. The current opening is just smaller than the trim cover for the fixture. Thanks Wayne

My shower/bathtub drains very slowly. A while back, we had a plumber come out to clean out the drain and he said the problem was that the piece that lifts and drops the stopper/plug was caught in the drain pipe. Over time it was collecting hair, etc. and slowed the passage of water through the pipe. (Does this make sense?) Instead of paying to have it removed, I've been using a plunger and draino to try to keep the hair from collecting. Does anyone have advice on how to remove that piece from the drain? Thanks.
