Question glass blocks for window

We are building an addition to an existing house. Part of the addition will be the master bedroom, bath and walk-in closet. I was thinking of using glass blocks instead of glass window over the whirlpool tub to allow for light and still have privacy. We are doing most of the work ourselves. Any suggestions as to where to purchase these blocks, and how hard are they to install? Am clueless about both.

Check with your local bldg. dept. You can use the glass blocks IN ADDITION to the window, but I seriously doubt that you can use them INSTEAD of the window unless you provide some other means of adequate ventilation.

glass blocks

You may purchase these from Home Depot, Lowes, or a tile store. Check your phone book! Some have video's for installation. Seems workable - I've seen several glass block windows down here in Florida..... good luck!
