Cool Bathtub porcelain coming off.

The porcelain is coming off the corners of our 37 year old bathtub in the master bathroom. Wall to wall installation with sliding glass doors. The porcelain is “popping” off in ½ inch diameter chunks. Thought the niece was hitting with something but doesn’t appear to be the case. We live here year round so not temp related, no harsh chemicals being used etc…

Cool

Mike,
That could be due to age, crack damage, or the moisture getting under the porcelain.
In any case, I think you need to consider replacing the tub, or getting quotes on getting it re-finished IF you have any very good pro sink, tub and shower unit refinishers in your area.
CHECK references on those guys. Like almost everything else, there are some jakes in that field.
If you don't have a good refinsher in your area, just look at replacement. You'll be better off in the long run.
Good Luck!
Mike
