window above bathtub

I would like to remodel my bathroom. There is 2'-6" square window on the main wall above the tub. The window is wood frame with sash. I currently have a full shower ring with curtains to keep the window dry. Relocating the window is not an option given layout of the house. Can I consider replacing the window with a water proof window combined with tile or a shower surround? Thanks for your help.

I think that is a very good idea...a vinyl frame window and tile trim is perfect. Too often i see these windows that are almost completely rotted out...I'm sure you'll find yours started to as well.

window in shower

I just replaced the window in our shower with vinyl. It looks great. The wood was pretty rotted out. I'm very pleased-

bathtub caulking

the caulking between the tiles are dirty with perhaps mildew and actually the whole walls should probably be redone. however, there are only a few spots that really need redoing and i think that if i just clean it with brush, etc. it will look much better. however, is there someway i can seal the grout after i have cleaned?. 'tips and hints' suggest a good car wax might be an idea when new, but is there a better or alternative solution?. as ever, would appreciate any ideas...... joan

Remodeling bathroom. Now I want to install a fan. Is there a fan that just recirculates air, like my kitchen fan does?
