Question ugly discolored grout in shower

In our shower, the white grout around the tile has now turned an ugly yellow-rusty color (more so in center than egdes which are still mostly white).

My question, can I re-grout? What all does that entail?
Is there any cleaners to use to get it back to white?
Can I grout over the top?
Any hints to prevent this from happening to the rest of the grout areas??

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Regrout bathroom tile

If cleaning grout with a commercial grout cleaner or home remedy is not effective, then regrouting is an option:

Grout tends to be absorbent and will absorb oils, soils, and stains and frequently becomes a breeding ground for mold/mildew in showers. Once the new grout has properly cured, seal with a couple coats of penetrating grout sealer and keep it sealed per manufacturer's instructions.
