Question protein shakes with cardio for weight loss?

So im about 205 pounds and would like to drop to say 185. Ive cut down my calories a bit and have been doing about an hour of cardio a day, but definately have a weakness for food(although healthy stuff) and the dreaded beer. Anyways my question is protein powder in some kinda health shake gonna help me at all? if so would anyone recommend anything? ill admit im a big eater, although usually lots of foods like chicken, tuna etc.

Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

While shakes and supplements are good to replenish your body and make sure you get all your vitamins and minerals, they won't make you lose weight, no matter what the bottle says.
The best way to lose weight (fat, that is) is to add more muscle. Try adding some weight bearing exercises to your cardio program. The protein powders help with the muscle, but only if you're doing some bodybuilding!
btw, don't go by your body weight, go by your fat content.

Muscle tissue is where the majority of the calories in the body are burned - the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn, period.

be careful with those protein shakes (and the bars!) they have a lot of calories in them. I would stick to natural sources of protein, so you don't have to consume all that extra sugar. keep up the cardio! that's going to help you out a lot.
