Door lock

I had a custom wooden shutter door manufactured for an interior doorway, and asked them to install a locking doorknob (keyed on one side, with a thumb lock on the other). When they came to install it, they said they couldn't put any kind of lock on it because the door is too thin -- 1-1/8" instead of the customary 1-3/8". Does anyone have any idea where I could find a lockset for a door this thin? I'm willing to sacrifice the thumb lock inside, but I need a lock with a key for the outside of the door.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are the same people that made the door the ones installing it and, did you advise them of the need for a locking doorknob before it was built? If the answer is yes, they gotta fix it. One way I can think of is to add thickness to the door in the area of the passage lock - most likely 1/4 inch on one side only.
