How to remove a window
I would like to know how to remove a window. I have removed the sashes and the frames to what I think is the opening. Is the outer trim of the items I removed also part of the window or is it the frame the window goes into? I ask because I need a measurement to order a window and compare my options ie glass block or double hung. Thnx fxdriver

The sash is the frame that holds the glass, the jamb is the frame that holds the sash. If you have removed the jambs and sill, you are down to the original "rough opening". Use this RO when ordering your new window. The outside trim may or may not have been part of the original window depending on it's age, but this should not influence the RO measurement.
