Question

our house is about 40 years old and is made of rock.the windows are single pane and steel frames.we get condensation on inside of windows and would like any replacement suggestions thanks.

I would get a couple estimates on retrofitting them with vinyl windows. These can be custom made to the sizes needed, will be dual pane and will eliminate the condensation problem. Have them profesionally installed. You probably don't have the tools necessary to deal with the steel frames and properly attach them so they won't leak.

Lefty is right. Do not buy the cheap window though. You will be sorry.

Hi Glenn, well you should replace your windows with Dougle glazed ones, but they will not nessaserily reduce your condensation problem as this is caused and only caused by the amount of moisture in the air, you can reduce this by having good ventillation, when buying new windows have them fit trickle/nite vents into them this then allows you to leave the trickle vents open and let the moist air out and fresh air in, I hope this helps a little, Handyman
