I want to remove a Schlage deadbolt from my front door but the inside knob does not have screws keeping the two knobs together. How is this type of lock removed and do I need a locksmith to do it for me??

HELP PLEASE - Thanks

Someplace on the shank of the doorknob you will find a deeper about 1/4" long. Depress that and the inside knob will pull off. Depending on the model, a similar keeper may need to be depressed to remove the trim rong. Under all of that you will find 2 screws that will allow you to remove the lockset.
