A stab in the dark - but does anyone out there no about any codes for windows in psychiatric facilities. Do they HAVE to be safety or plexiglass construction? I am a risk consultant and can't find this answer. Thanks.

I don't know the answer, but it will fall within the State Building Code. The State Code contact list can be found at the URL below. Some states are online, and answer code questions.

Try the site listed by 2000. Hopefully you will find your answer there. If not, was the bldg. originally built for use as a psychiatric facility? If so, check with the agency who issued the permit and did the inspections on it. If not, was it converted to one with a bldg. permit? If so, check with the agency who issued the permit and did the inspections on it. Hope either this post or the one by 2000 puts you on the right track.
