I have vinyl replacement windows that slide down. I've learned how to tighten the spiral balance, but cannot locate a spiral balance tool anywhere. Where can I find one? Companies want to charge $25 per window to tighten the balance.

Any place that sells window parts should be able to sell you the tool. We sell the tool for $15.00. Where are you located? I'm in the New York area.

Several years ago I replaced my windows with sliding windows. The siding is redwood. Now there is a leak that shows up as damp drywall on the inside at the lower edge of the window. How do I find the problem and fix it?Read More

Is a sliding door with the proper glass coating any less efficient then a garden door. I've heard sliding doors are not as energy efficient and are more likely to leak and have drafts. Aren't they built better these days. I was told garden doors have a better seal yet I know someone who had a garden door installed and had bad drafts so they replaced it with a sliding door.Read More
