Bow Window

We recently replaced a three-pane window with a 5 glass bow window. The existing space measured 9'5" long x
5'3 3/4" high. We were initially concerned with "filling" the space with a same size unit. We did not question the fact, and the factory representative never mentioned, that with the bottom insulation used on a bow window, we would be loosing 6 1/2" in glass height thus making the seat higher. I am very disappointed, as this was not what I had envisioned when making the choice of a bow window. I preferred the window seat to be sofa/chair height, of which it turned out to be 4-5" higher. Besides considering putting a wide type of molding/board under the sill when framing the window in, how can we make this window "appear" lower and more in line with the furniture seating?

I know of no magical way to make it "appear" lower. How about reframing the opening and making it lower?
