Question

I have a sliding screen on my patio door that will not slide properly. (I think the kids were playing and messed it up.) How do I repair this? How do I remove the door to repair? I know nothing about how the door slides or fits in the frame. Could someone explain?

Thanks,

Alfie

Alfie, sliding screen doors are no great mystery, but they can be tempermental. First, there are 2 rollers (one near each side) on the bottom that ride on a rib that is formed into the threshold of the door. Make sure there are no obstructions along that rib. It's possible that one (or both) of the rollers is either not on the track, or is broken. Look under the door and make sure both rollers are on the track. If one (or both) is off, use a flat screwdriver or a putty knife to lift the roller back onto the track. If that doesn't fix the problem, repost and we will continue.

Thumbs up

Lefty,

It worked! As you can see I just registered. This is a great site for people like me who know just enough to mess things up.

Thanks,

Alfie
