Closet Doors

I am getting to the end of a complete home remodel and all i have left are doorless bedroom closets. The openings are about 6' wide, there were sliding doors there originally, they had lots of holes in them and i removed them. I am looking for a fairly cheap solution that still looks good for resale. Thanks for any help!

Take look at bi-fold doors.

Bi-fold or by-pass -- not a great difference in the price, and neither will break the bank. Make them match the bedroom doors.

Thermal aluminum Windows

I need to replace my windows and a guy here in town who installs windows says he has installed Anderson windows in his own house that had to be replaced because of broken seals and they had other problems and now he installs Thermal Windows which are aluminum with the thermal break and he says that vinyl windows tested for strength in a wind tunnel folded and the aluminum is stronger and with the thermal break, they are better here in Oklahoma with the high winds. Everything I read here in this forum says that vinyl is best. I've got another guy who installs Alside and Simonton windows who is coming to do an estimate. Both of these guys are going to tell me that their windows are best. Who do I believe? The guy with the aluminum windows told my husband a story about how you should never get the vinyl-clad wood because water gets behind the vinyl and rots the wood so my husband thinks this guy knows everything and wants to get his windows. I don't believe everthing I hear so I have to question somebody who is not trying to sell something. Is vinyl always better?Read More

prehung interior doors - install before or after wall panelling?

hi all. building a 14x28' deer camp cabin. i'm very close to putting up wall panelling. going to use 4" grooved t1-11. now, do i put this stuff up before or after i install my prehung interior doors? looked at prehung interior doors at the depot last weekend and i don't know how to instal them. they looked like they already had some kind of trim installed on them. so i guess i have 2 questions. 1) which comes first. 2) howto install...Read More
