Caulk recommendation - new vinyl windows
I have installed white vinyl windows and GP pine reverse board and batten 5/8" siding. What is the best caulk to use to seal the windows and fill the gap? I have a few cases of large gaps to fill.

You'll probably need 2 or 3 different types of caulking, depending on just what you are caulking or sealing.
To seal the windows to the framing or siding. in an area that you can't see and won't be painting, use a sealant like Vulkem 116 or Sikaflex.
In the areas that you will be painting, use a siliconized latex -- something that the paint will stick to.
Depending on how the windows are trimmed, you may need a 100% silicon to caulk any place where vinyl is contacting vinyl.

i just want to put in laymans terms
if you dont paint caulking, white will be grey in 1 year and black in 2
silicone will be washable and will stay whit but cannot be readily painted
do not use silicone anywhere u will not be painting unless you dont care what it looks like
