Dual Pane Sliding Door By Heritage

My Dual Pane Glass Sliding doors one of the wheel seems to be
damaged. I tried to take the door off the guide by lifting it up but when I lift the door the bottom of the door does not clear the
walls of the lower slide channel. Are there any tricks to taking these off so one can see what is wrong with the wheels and possibly fix it ?
Any comments would be appreciated.

There could be a stop (or stops) in the header. Try opening the door all of the way, then lifting. Also, you may have to adjust the rollers (retract them into the door) for them to clear the threshold. One or the other, or both may be what you need to do to get the door out. The only other style of slider requires that you remove the stationary panel first, then swing the sliding pane bottom OUT.

Thanks you for your reply.
I think your thouhgts about taking out the stationary door might
work. Only difficulty I found with that is : there is a pressed-in plate at the bottom covering the portion of the channel where stationary door may slide. I first have to some how remove this
plate, then slide the stationary door slightly, so one of the vertical edges of the door would be free from the frame and I could take it out. Then I could take out the sliding door which has problems.
The problem is how do I take out the pressed-in-plate ? If I try to
pry it with a screwdriver, I am sure to ruin it. Are there special tools to take this plate out !!

Nope...no "special" tools.....they are just cover plates with a "locking" T type extrusion, often using in the head jamb as well.
You just have to use a small screwdriver in an inconspicuous place and get it started. SOMETIMES they are a bear to get out.

DON'T try to insert the screwdriver in an end (between the plate and the stationary pane). Instead, get outside and find the horizontal joint where this cap meets the threshold, and insert the screwdriver there. Then twist the screwdriver. The cap should pop right out.
