door widths

Are 34" wide interior doors widely available? I want wheelchair accessible doorways without going all the way to 36" doors. I realize that it's only 2" but I'm trying to limit the square footage of my new house and that 2" adds up after allowing clearance for several doors.

Brad,

You should be able to find 34" doors, even if you have to special order them.
In some instances, due to door swing/clearances, it may be wiser to use pocket doors - for example in a bathroom.

Hi, 34" door can be purchased at a lumber store or probably ordered from a big box store. I would also suggest you hang the doors with swing away hinges. They open The door about 2" wider than regular hinges that realy helps for clearance for wheel chairs. The are a little expensive but well worth it. You will probably have to special order them. On Hadicap units I work on the bathroom doors open into the hallway.
