Insulate screens?

When I bought my house, the windows had no screens so I made my own using a screen kit. The screens themselves went well, but I could not make an exact fit in my windows and I have gaps between the screen frame and window. This invites insects to come in through the gaps. Does anyone have a tip on how to seal these gaps? I've tried different types of tape around the edges. This works great for a while but the tape just falls off after a heavy rain.

Try self adhesive foam on the edge of the screen frame to fill in the gaps. Clean the surface well before applying the foam.
