Patio screen door stuck
I have sliding door in my family room leading to the patio. The screen door just recently only slides open a foot and then wont go any further. I wanted to take the screen door, clean it, inspect it and see whats wrong.
Any tips on removing it off the tracks?? Any ideas as to what the problem may be? It appears thats its on the tracks OK. It is an Andersen door from around 1979. Thanks!!

Usually, these doors simply lift and swing out. Look for worn rollers, worn bearings in the rollers, rocks, toy soldiers, anything in the track will hamper its smooth operation. It may be hanging on something in the adjacent track as well.

Like chfite said, they usually lift up and swing out. You may have to adjust the rollers (top and bottom) to take the pressure off of them so that you can lift it enough, and you may have to use a putty knife to lift the bottom roller off of the guide.
Lay the knife on the track and roll the door open so the roller goes up on the knife. Now slide that end of the door out. Do the same at the other end.

Ok... piece of cake... i got it out.
The rivets holding one of the rollers on top broke off. Can I just use sheet metal screws to attach the roller back on or do I have to put new rivets?

The screw may have too much of a head to clear the track. Pop rivet guns and rivets are available at the box stores.. Not too expensive, and can be handy at times.
