Framing out window

Hello Folks, I'm in the process of ripping an old bathroom down to the studs. I want to make the window bigger as it will no longer be a bathroom. I plan on using a header and building it the right way. My question is will studs placed about 3 feet away from the wall on the joists hold the load while I adjust the rough opening. Also, I'm looking at the Andersen 400 double hung. Anyone know of a quality cost effective alternative??? Budget is a little tight. Home Depot has the Andersen for 220.00. Thanks in advance for your time. Eric

The temp. wall of 3 studs, placed about 3' from the wall, will work just fine.

The 3/0 - 4/0 Andersen window for $220 is about the best window you will find in that price range for that size.
