Question Windows

I am single and do not know much about replacing windows. I am replacing 9 of the windows in my house. I have a quote on Owens Corning White Vinyl Windows, Low E, Argon, Full Screens, Double hung for $226.35 a window

Or Wilmar for $326 a window - which one is a better window that will last. Thank You!!

The difference is how much proffit the seller wants to make. Sounds like you've got most of the options on the Owens Corning window, so there is no way the Wilmar can be THAT much more window.....ASSUMING you are getting the same install.....wrapping your outside mouldings with trim coil, etc...

If you keep shopping, you'll find prices right on up to $500-700 a window......again, no REAL difference, just how much they want to stick you for...

The $226 price is pretty fair.....You don't say the size, but an "average" vinyl replacement with LowE and full screen will run in the $150 or so range.......just for the window.....add $50-60 install costs and a small amount for overhead and profit, and the quote you got is right on target.....You'd be hard pressed to get it much cheaper.

If you call the Wilmar rep back( and I don't recommend you waste your time doing so), you'll find they probably will cut the price some, maybe even down to the Owens window price......at which point you ought ask yourself WHY they didn't do that right from the get-go........sounds like the Owens guy gave you his best right off......which is reason enough alone for ME to go with him......

I bought a new truck recently and one of the salesmen called me a few days after I bought it from another place, and said "Well, if you'd given ME the chance, I could have matched THAT price"........OK....SO WHY DIDN'T YOU ????......I mean, you were gouging me before, but NOW you're my BUDDY ????....I don't think so......
