Door

I have a metal clad wood door. The door is missing a part where the lock set attaches. I can not identify the manufacturer. Need a source for parts.

Welcome to the forums.

Parts for the lock or parts for the door?

Sounds like you want something for the door but normally parts will be included with a lockset to adapt it to different door preps such as backset and the type of latch.

Any other detail about the function of the part would be helpful.

I am looking for parts for the door. I have not been able to find anything in the lock set. Do you know how to identify the door manufacturer?

What sort of "PART" is missing?

Metal doors (I'm assuming that this is a pre-hung door) come pre-bored and pre-mortised for the lockset, and usually for the deadbolt as well. All of the "parts" that you need to install the lockset come in the package with the lockset.

The only exception to this that I am aware of is the new Stanley doors. They come with a little bag stapled to the outside of the jamb that includes a couple of plastic inserts that fit into the mortises for the lockset and the deadbolt. But that is strickly for appearance, to finish off the raw edge of the latch because of the way that they cut the mortises.
