Deadbolt wont latch

Deadbolt wont latch
Hello,
I just rekeyed all my locks after a burglary a couple days ago. This morning when I went to leave the deadbolt would not lock with a key...it worked fine yesterday. You can lock it from the inside ok...even though it seems to catch on something slightly. If I put a key in the lock wont close.
Should I go get a new key...it does work on the other locks in the house. Or is it something that I need to take the deadbolt off and take it in to be repaired.
Thanks again for help.
Brian

Hi: Brian
If the bolt will slide in and out of the lock when the door is opened, the bolt may be striking the striker pad on the door jam when closed from the outside. Try pulling on the door knob or pushing on the door while attempting to lock it from the outside.
All that may be needed is an adjustment to the striker pad on the door frame. Unless the problem exists with the deadbolt lock.

Hi: Brian
If the problem exists in the lock itself, as suspected based on your update post, try lock and key graphite lube. May just be a rough spot with the tumblers within that specific lock.
Be sure there aren't any burrs on the bolt or the lock where the bolt extends out from. Maybe worth a try to lube the bolt itself.
All else fails, may have to replace the lock or have it serviced at the local lock and key shop. Also check the key itself for burrs.
