stuck window
I live in an old apartment and the windows are old. The building itself is about 80 years old. My bedroom windows are stuck closed because they are swollen. It was really humid in our apartment this winter. Is there any way I can get them open without breaking the glass? Help!

My suggestion is to replace the windows with ones that aren't affected by temperature and humidity. Vinyl works well. Do some homework. Some utilities are offering rebates for replacing windows with ones with an Energy Star label. Then do some math. If replacing the windows cuts your utility bills by 20% or 30%, they just might be worth the investment!!
