adjusting pocket door height.

We just installed a new kitchen floor. Our pocket door will not slide closed over the new floor. How can we disassembl the door to cut some off the bottom? Do these doors usually have a height adjustment. House was built in 1970.

Pull the casings and jambs off of the pocket side of the door. You should be able to close the door and swing it so you can get it off of the track. A simple straight edge will guide a circular saw to give you nice straight cut along the bottom of the door. Rehang the door, then re-install the jamb and the casings.

Are the carriers adjusted as high as possible? I try to set the height first, then tweak the adjustments to get the door hanging straight.

If you do need to trim the door, cut off the top since it will be hidden by the trim.
