Outside Door Alignment

Good Day,

Last week the wind caught my backdoor which swings outward to a back patio. Now when I try to close it the gap has become a bit smaller and the door is a lot tougher to close.

Nothing was torn on the hinges or damaged and I am now pondering how I can try to knock the hinges in tight again to allow better clearance for easy opening and closing.

Thanks for your time on this.

I would bet that the problem is;

1. The hinge screws were loosened by the door slamming open, or;

2. The door jamb was shifted when the door slammed open.

Check the jambs for level and plumb. You may need to true them up and add shims to keep them in place.
