Question Pocket Door Repair

My house is over 100 years old. The previous owners pushed in and covered over the opening to the pockets doors to the entrance of our dining room.

We would like to have these pocket doors functional.

Problem is, when we removed the boards covering the opening, the doors will not pull out at all. They will not even budge.

We are guessing that the doors are off the tacks inside.

Where do we start to get the doors fixed?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

HArd saying what the previous owners may have done to make the doors unmovable. It may be that you will have to remove the wall (probably lath and plaster, since it's over 100 years old!) so that you can get to the doors and their frames.
