Nu View Windows

I'm from MO and need to find some place that sells Nu View window screens. Does anyone know how to get in touch w/them? I've tried the search engine but nothing is comming up. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Nu View windows or their screens. Are these some special window screen -- maybe they retract or something?

If you are looking at just plain old window screens, you could get the parts at a big box store and make them yourself, or you could have a local glass shop make them for you.

I want to replace the windows in my mobile home with energy efficient pvc windows. Due to the thinner wall thickness of my trailer to new windows are there any tips for doing this. I am planning on having the siding replaced and am aware I will probably have to install some layer of insulation to offset the new window thickness. I am pretty handy so I would like to try this myself. Any ideas on how I get started would be appreciated!Read More

Noise! Have to replace sections of glass

I live on a busy thoroughfare and so far am unsuccessful in finding a renter that will sign a lease on an apartment that is noisy. I need to cut the sound coming through the glass that faces the street. In addition to the large windows, there are wraparound sections of panes of glass that surround a large window. Dimensions for these sections of panes are around 1' x 5'. There are a total of six of these sections. See picture of windows on either side of front door. [url]http://home.comcast.net/~davevarga/1.htm[/url] I was thinking of cutting pieces of plexiglass or glass to those dimensions and securing them with trim from the inside of the house. They would be a few inches from the original panes of glass. I think it would look OK aesthetically. In this way the sound from the street would have to not only go through the glass, but go through the plexiglass. Hopefully this will cut the sound. Questions: Does this sound like it would be effective in cutting sound? Should I get the thickest that I can find? Will plexiglass over time yellow from the sun? Should I get glass instead?Read More
