Question replace windows

I want to replace the windows in my mobile home with energy efficient pvc windows. Due to the thinner wall thickness of my trailer to new windows are there any tips for doing this. I am planning on having the siding replaced and am aware I will probably have to install some layer of insulation to offset the new window thickness. I am pretty handy so I would like to try this myself. Any ideas on how I get started would be appreciated!

Replacing windows in most mobile homes is pretty straight forward. Most window mfgrs. offer a line with thinner frames, which usually work better in this application. Regardless, you will still lose most of your window sill on the inside.

Adding a layer of insulation under whatever you use for a new siding will help. Not only will it add "R" value to the wall, it'll reduce the drafts.

Good luck with your projects!
