Bad window seal

I've got a bad seal on one of the the sashes of a double hung, Acorn alumnium window. I understand Acorn is now out of business. Any suggestions on whether I should
1. try and repair the seal
2. try and replace just the bad sash
3. replace the whole window?

Acorn may be out of the question for repair parts but there are always after market parts that may work. Most good glass companys can help you get the right parts.

Exterior Metal Door Installation Costs

I was going to paint my exterior metal door, and then after looking at new door prices, figured I could get a new door with a halfmoon glass window in it for about $179 at Home Depot. Then I asked how much it would be to have it installed and they told me $225. Is this a reasonable price? I figured all they'd have to do is remove the hinges and put on the new door - or is there more to it?

My current Windows are terrible (single pane). They leak during bad storms and get condenstation in winter.... My questions are: 1) For double pane replacements anyone have any recomendations on type or brand thats very, "cost effective" but performs well? Basically the cheapest best window leaning a little towards the cheap end :rolleyes: 2) I live on Vancouver island. Can anyone recomend a good installer and or place to purchase? We have Home depot, Sears, etc and a bunch of smaller guys as well. Thanks,
