Exterior Metal Door Installation Costs

I was going to paint my exterior metal door, and then after looking at new door prices, figured I could get a new door with a halfmoon glass window in it for about $179 at Home Depot. Then I asked how much it would be to have it installed and they told me $225. Is this a reasonable price? I figured all they'd have to do is remove the hinges and put on the new door - or is there more to it?

There's more --

Metal doors (Stanley, Premdoor, etc.) come as a prehung unit. Your existing door AND IT'S JAMB will be removed -- the new door will go into the rough opening. That is quicker (and therefore cheaper) than matching the new door hinges to the existing jamb hinges. All metal doors are done this way.

$225 for the install isn't a bad price -- that's the going rate for any installer contracting through HD. For the customers that are handy, they can install one themselves in about 4 hours and save the $225. For the customers that have never installed a door before, it's really not a bad deal.
