Proper Caulk for Door Installation
When installing a replacement exterior, prehung door,
what is the proper caulk that should be placed beneath
the sill? In this case the sill material is aluminum and will
be installed onto concrete. Occasionally I have seen
articles that say "silicone" caulk, but does this mean
"pure" silicone, or a latex / silicone, or "siliconized" caulk?
Once installed the door isn't coming out, so must be right
the first time.

I use pure silicon, or a silicon SEALANT.
You'll find the pure silicon at any big box store, lumberyard, etc. You would have to shop glass shops or online (try Dow Chemical) to find the sealant.
Have never had a failure with either on yet, about 550 doors and counting.
