box out window

I had asked this question before, and lost the info. My Basement windows are set at the top of the wall. I am putting a drop ceiling in , if i put the ceiling in it would drop 4". Down to the window covering it. I know it has to be built down some how from the ceiling. Help

Generally what I do is to frame my grid so that it goes back up pretty tight to the rafters there in front of the windows. If the windows tilt in be sure to allow enough clearance for this, and leave just enough space between the rafter & the grid to allow you to slip the panel in place. The vertical panel needs to be cut so it tightly fits into the grid. Good luck.
