New Patio Door
Hey everyone,
I have recently ruined the astrigal(sp?..I think that's what it is called). The previous owners of my house has a cat that tore up the bottom, so I thought I'd remove it and replace it with a piece of new trim. Well, obviously it turned out to be a molded piece so now my weather seal is marginal at best. I'm not sure what my best approach here is. It may be time for a new door..a sliding one with a screen would be nice... but I'm not sure how much work that would be. I'm fairly handy, so I could probably tackle most things myself. Any advice on how to repair or replace would be welcomed.
Thanks!!

If you can't find an astrigal that fits, then indeed you may have to replace the door. Going to a slider isn't that difficult, assuming that you have a standard 80" high door that has a standard (probably 6') width for the rough opening.
