Trimmers for door in load bearing wall

I am inserting a door in a load bearing wall (two-story Cape Cod). The opening between king studs is 45 inches. I've used three 2 x 10 boards plus 1" plywood cut to size for the header.

I planned to use two trimmers on each side, but now wonder if I could use one instead. Local jurisdiction uses 2000 International Building Code.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Its common framing practice to use doubled full length trimmers where headers are 8' and over, and/or supporting 2nd floor loads.
