I just had a fiberglass door installed on my house. The contractor said that if there is direct sunlight on the door for more than a couple of hours per day, that I couldn't have a glass storm door. The heat buildup behind the glass would be trapped, and warp the door.
I didn't believe this, but low and behold it was confirmed by the customer service line of Therma-Tru (big distributor of fiberglass doors). It all depends on how much sun you get on your door.
I've been looking at Andersen for 'ventilating' storm doors. HD had them for under $200, +$100 for installation.

just get a vented storm door (like the rolldown screens) and stay away from black as a color for front doors and storm doors
