Darn Sidelight

I have a wood sidelight with 3 panes of glass vertically and just wood below that. This sidelight is part of the aluminum entry door. The wooden bottom section is cracked at every seam and outside air just blows right through it.

Can you give me a direction to start? Replace the entire unit as a unit? Take the whole thing out and frame in a new one? Kinda clueless as to the best way to fix it.

Just draft problem and nothing else? I would caulk it.

Pre hung door help

I just put in my first pre hung door (what a rookie) and all went fairly well until I took the little black plug out ot the latch hole. The outside of the frame (cutout) is higher that the door latch cutout.I know that they have to lineup so I can install the doorknob system properly. I also noticed that the door drags a little on the same side as the latch on the top. Any help? Do I have to start all over? Larry - I am on hold on putting the door trim on until one of you experts bail me out !!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU

leaking bathroom window

My house is 12 years old. Two winters ago, my bathroom window started to leak. I could tell because the bathroom is above my kitchen and all of a sudden I started to get water spots on my ceiling. The window only leaks when there is a wind-driven rain. How can I tell if it is a weep hole problem, a glaze problem or if I need a whole new window? What is a retro fit window versus a replacement window? Thanks
