Single-hung window can't stay open
Hello,
I have a single-hung window, and yesterday when I was opening it, a track (with a spring inside) came loose from the stile and then the sash would keep falling and refuse to stay open.
I think there's another identical track on the other side similar to the one that came off on one side. What is that track called? How can I put it back to the window? Do I have to remove the sash completely?
Thanks

ywcs4521,
Make sure you get the right tensioner for your window. A little bitty sash needs a pretty weak tensioner -- a large sash needs a strong one. There are different ones, with different tensions, depending on the size (and weight) of the sash.
