Double french door problem...Help

Exclamation Double french door problem...Help

We removed a sliding glass door and installed a double french door...
It opens and shuts fine...BUT...the space between the the dorrs at the top of the door is 1/8" and the space between the doors at the bottom of the door is 3/8"....
What can I do to fix that.......where to shim etc.????
HELP!!!!! Kathy

Along the hinge sides, see if there is a difference in the space between the jamb and door.
Remove the hinge screw closest to the stop and replace with 2.5" screw, pulling and adjusting the doors as needed.

if you have a 3/8 gap at the bottom of the door, sounds like you have a sag in your sill. Look outside and see if the door is dropping. if it is, shim the sill to raise the door.Snoonyb had good suggestions to.

you should have 1/8 to 3/16 gap depending on the door.

Doors should be square,level and plumb. measure corner to corner like an X and they should match in measurement, if not reshim according.

Always make sure you sill is leavel first, then square up the rest of the door to finnish it off.
